WHERE THE BONES FOR BABS PORK COME FROM

All ingredients are certified organic except our bones for Pork Bone Broth. The reason Babs Pork Bone Broth isn’t considered organic is simply that the pig farmers we source the bones from haven’t certified their farms.

We get the pig bones from Stan Gloudemans and Josse Haarhuis — truly amazing farmers! They have 12 locations in the Netherlands. All of their pigs are free to roam and wander for their entire lives. They get a lot of exercise, and plenty of time for lounging and scratching in fields, forests, and meadows. They are never given any antibiotics or hormones, and we’re quite sure that they are the happiest pigs on the planet.

What are the best ways to consume bone broth?

You can sip warmed bone broth as it is adding a little bit of sea salt. To add flavor, simmer ginger, fresh garlic, scallions, rosemary, cayenne, or any other herbs and spices you want in the broth. Season with sea salt and pepper and fresh lemon and enjoy.

How often should I drink bone broth for the health benefits?

You can drink it every day if you want. Here are some suggestions based on your health goals:

  • For overall wellness – Drink about four cups a week.
  • To give your hair, skin, and nails a boost of collagen that you can see – Drink one cup a day.
  • For joint pain relief – Try two to three cups a day.
  • To support a healthy gut – Two cups a day will promote healthy digestion and reduced inflammation.
  • For weight loss and muscle-building – Drink four cups a day.
Should I dilute the bone broth?

For soups and stews, you can dilute the broth up to three times with 440 mL of water, which is the size of the jar. If you’re drinking it for the health benefits, or if you’re making sauces, we don’t recommend diluting it at all.

Where is the gelatin, I don't see any jiggle?

It’s in there! If you don’t see the jiggly gelatin goodness in your jar of bone broth when it arrives, don’t worry. This is normal — because of the temperature changes during transit, the gelatin may have liquefied. Once it cools down, the gelatin will congeal and you’ll be able to see the collagen protein.

Once your bone broth arrives, you can place the jars in the fridge. The ideal temperature for storing our bone broth is 1 to 3 °C.

When is a good time to drink bone broth?

Whenever you like to have a satisfying snack or meal, you can have bone broth. Some people drink a cup between meals for a nutritious snack. Consider making it a part of your healthy morning ritual — a tablespoon or two in your coffee will help to keep you energized and focused.

You can also consume bone broth in a smoothie or drink a cup of warm bone broth after working out. This is a great way to provide your body with protein and other nutrients to support muscle recovery.

What are the white pieces in my bone broth?

The small white bits are the natural fat from the bones. We do remove most of the fat so you likely will only see a small amount, which will dissolve when heated. This fat does enhance the richness of the broth and it’s 100 percent safe for you to drink.
